Referral Partner FAQ’s

Common questions asked by our referral partners
Want to learn more about how our HelpTech can help your patients, clients or consumers? Explore our FAQ topic below.
What is a referral partner?
A referral partner is someone who helps connect people in need with Gather My Crew. By introducing them to the platform, you’re helping them ask for and coordinate practical support during challenging times.
Who can be a referral partner?
Anyone working closely with people experiencing tough life events - healthcare professionals, social workers, community organisations, support services, or employers can be a referral partner.
Is there a cost associated with becoming a referral partner?
No. There’s no cost to you or the person you refer. Gather My Crew is a free tool.
How to encourage engagement for people who are hesitant?
Start by normalising the idea of accepting help. It’s something all of us will need at some point and is so important for both the individuals needing care and to reduce carer burnout. Let them know the platform is private, easy to use, and puts them in control of what support they receive and from whom. Sharing a story of the impact using the tool can have (read real stories here), or offering to help set up their crew can make a big difference.
When is it best to introduce people to Gather My Crew?
The earlier, the better. Ideally at the point where someone is starting to feel overwhelmed (eg. new diagnosis) or before a known life disruption (eg. surgery, treatment). It’s much easier to build a support crew early than during a crisis.
How does a referral partner refer people to Gather My Crew?
You can:
- Share the website link directly
- Walk them through the sign-up process
- Offer printed resources
- Reach out to us for materials or support to make the referral process simple
How does Gather My Crew help?
We provide a simple, secure online tool that makes it easier for people to coordinate help from friends and family during tough times.
How do I refer someone?
You can give them the link to our website, walk them through setting up a Crew, or share printed materials if that works better.
Can I set up a Crew on their behalf?
Yes—with their permission, you can absolutely help them create and manage a support network.
What resources are available to help me?
We’ve got printed or digital materials (brochures, posters, clinician information sheets), social media tiles and captions, and blurbs to add to your newsletter – all to make referring easy. Let us know what you need.
Is the platform secure?
Yes. All personal information is protected, and only visible to people who are invited into the Crew.
Will I be able to follow up on how they’re going?
No. For privacy reasons, we don’t share user activity. You’re welcome to check in with them directly if appropriate.
Can I get more information or training?
Of course—just reach out to Lauren, who looks after Partner Engagement & Community Education and she’ll be happy to help.
Is there support available if someone needs help using the platform?
Yes, real support from a real person. Our support desk is run by Monica, a warm and friendly face who’s actually used Gather My Crew herself. She understands what people are going through and is here to help every step of the way. No bots - just genuine support from someone who cares.
