Why Gather My Crew

Tools that help people to care for one another

Our help technology and resources have been developed by people just like you. Workers on the front lines, supporting patients, clients and families as they go through crisis.

Partner Resources

Help us spread the word

We know that our tool and resources are most valuable if engaged with at the start of a crisis or health emergency. We want to be a preventative resource. A way to ensure patients and clients get the support they need, as early as possible. That is why our referral partners are so important. You are at the ‘coalface’. You are seeing people at the moment their lives are thrown into chaos. Please remember us during these critical times and share our resources with your patients and clients.

We have a range of resources you can share starting with a range of collateral and resources to learn how our technology works, and to share with your clients and patients.

We’re also available to visit your workplace, conduct a training session or present at your next education day.

Referral Partners

Once you partner with us, you’ll join our team of Australia’s leading hospitals, non-profit and community organisations. Together, we can build a community of people, helping people.

Help Technology

The right help at the right time makes all the difference

Our app helps coordinate the support of friends and family for your clients.

By recommending our app to your patients or families, you equip them with the tools to coordinate continued support throughout the entire journey.

Getting started

You’ll understand that feeling overwhelmed is a common reaction to hardship. But your patients don’t have to do it alone. You can let them know that they enlist the help of a family member or close friend to be their App Captain.

Gather the Crew

After the patient or App Captain has downloaded the app, they invite people to join their Crew by SMS. They can be friends, family and anyone who’s offered to help.

Identify help opportunities

It’s common for overwhelmed people to struggle when thinking of what others should do to help. Our handy 1 minute questionnaire can make it a little bit easier. We’ll use the answers to build a list of common help requests, all saved in the Help List.

Shared calendar

The description, date and time for new tasks will be added to the shared calendar. Here, the Crew Members can easily see and accept tasks that suit their expertise and schedule.

Create tasks

Users request help by creating a task. They can start with a suggestion from the Help List. Or create their own.

“Wednesday is my day off. So I’d be more than happy to walk the dog.”

“I’ll take Anna’s kids with mine to school. Easy since they’re so close by”

Many hands make light work

Using our innovative platform, thousands of everyday people have worked together to support one another. Building a community of kindness to provide sustainable support that meets the needs of those they care about

Help Literacy

If you find it hard to offer help, you’re not alone.

Even when it’s someone we care about, we still have fears, concerns and hesitation when we want to offer help.

But if these feelings aren’t managed, they can stop people from receiving the care and support they need. But why do we feel this way? With most life skills, they take practice. Doing a favour is one thing. But the majority of us are not used to providing essential support. And the unknown is scary.

Through education, information and tools, we believe that anyone can overcome the fears around helping others. Access these resources yourself at our Help Literacy Hub.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about our technology

Who should set up a Crew?

The person in need or someone they trust can act as the Captain (or administrator). This person is responsible for adding the tasks, inviting Crew Members, and fielding questions from the Crew. If you want to set up a Gather My Crew account for someone else, make sure you ask their permission and ensure they are involved in nominating the help needed.
