There might be someone in your sports club who needs your help.

It starts with a missed training. Then another. Then they’re not at the game.

At first, it’s easy to assume they’re just busy. Life gets full. Things come up.

But sometimes, something else is going on.

When someone is going through a tough time, illness, recovery, grief, or caring responsibilities, staying connected to the club can become one more thing to juggle.

Training. Games. Getting there. Having the energy for it.

So, they stop coming.

And once they stop coming, it’s very easy to lose that connection altogether.

You’re in a position to notice that.
And when you notice, you can do something about it.

You don’t need to know the full story. You just need to make one thing a little easier. Here are some ways to do that.

  • “I’m heading to training anyway. Want a lift this week?”
  • “I’ll grab your kit and wash it with mine. One less thing to think about.”
  • “Can’t make the game? I’ll keep you posted so you’re still across everything.”
  • “I’ve got a bit of time this weekend. Want me to take care of the lawns or a few things around the house?”
  • “Our kids go to the same training; I’ll swing past and pick yours up if you like.”

Remember, you don’t need to fix everything. You just need to take one thing off someone’s plate.

If 12 people each do one thing, no one person is left doing 12 things on their own. The care is shared. The load is lighter.

That’s what happens when a group of people come together and step in. That’s the power of a crew.

The Gather My Crew app makes it simple for sports clubs to bring that crew together and orgnise this kind of practical support. The app removes the need to ask anyone directly for help, it coordinates everything, so nothing gets missed or doubled up, and it makes everything clear, so everyone knows exactly how to help.

Sports clubs are powerful community hubs. Make sure no one in your club has to go through a tough time on their own. 💜
