Gather My Crew began when our founder, psychologist Dr Susan Palmer, realised just how hard it was for people with cancer to coordinate the family and friends they relied on throughout treatment.
Informed by patients and the multidisciplinary clinicians caring for them, she set out to make helping easier. That idea became Gather My Crew.
What started as an app has grown into a much bigger mission. We’re working to change how informal care is recognised, supported, and embedded across health and community systems.

A future where asking for help is normal, offering support is easy, and coordinated informal care is recognised, supported, and embedded within every care setting and community.
To make it easier for family, friends, and communities to provide meaningful, coordinated support during times of need.
People are fundamentally good. When someone is going through a tough time, most of us want to help. We just don’t always know what to do, when to step in, or what would actually make a difference.
We’re not here to replace services or put more pressure on individuals. We’re here to support communities to show up for each other.
Caring for someone was never meant to be a one-person job. There is enormous capacity to help within our families, friendships, neighbourhoods, and communities.
When people are given clear direction and simple ways to contribute, they show up.
Supportive guidance, prompts, and scripts that give people the confidence to know what to say, what to do, and how to show up well.
Practical tools that help communities organise and share everyday care, making it easier to coordinate the right help, at the right time, over as long as it’s needed.
Working with health services, community organisations, and partners to make informal care part of the care journey.
