Marcus’s Story

When Marcus was diagnosed with brain cancer, he had to stop driving.

His wife was managing everything at home with three kids, study and a busy work schedule.

But Marcus still needed to get to radiation appointments each week.

His mates immediately offered to help, but the offers came in faster than they could coordinate. A friend suggested using Gather My Crew to organise the lifts.

Once the tasks were set up, each mate chose a trip and the roster filled quickly.

What happened next was something none of them expected.

Every drive turned into carpool karaoke. The rides to hospital became full of music, jokes and long conversations. A simple lift to treatment became a moment Marcus and his friends looked forward to. They turned a practical task into something meaningful.

Those one-on-one moments in the car gave Marcus and his mates precious time to deepen friendships, share stories and create memories that would stay with them forever.

Without that space, those moments might never have happened.

Marcus and his friends took a terrible situation and turned it into something genuinely beautiful, reminding us that support isn’t always just practical, it’s also about the love and connection you foster along the way.
